DVD Player Issues
Recent Microsoft updates, as well as, changes in DVD media players we used to recommend, have caused DVD play issues with laptops. After researching the issue, below are our findings.
We have 2 DVD media players we now recommend:
PowerDVD Pro has been around for years and has proven to be a solid player. This player does require a license purchase. They also offer a free 30-day trial.
Windows DVD Player is another player that works. it offers limited functionality and may have issues with closed captioning.
Before installing anything, please check with your IT department.
We no longer recommend:
VLAN - Changes to its functionality now make in incompatible with encrypted DVD's.
